Auto Body Repair Process

Auto Body Repair Process being explained at Bavarian Body WorksMany steps are involved in restoring a damaged vehicle to pre-collision condition. At Bavarian Body Works, our collision solutions include a comprehensive checklist to ensure that everything is taken care of during the auto repair process.

Initial Collision Repair Estimate

The vehicle is initially inspected at our Atlanta auto body shop or our Marietta auto body shop. The data is entered into a computer system and compiled into an estimate that determines the cost of repairs. However, there is often hidden damage that cannot be seen until after the vehicle is disassembled.

Insurance Approval

The insurance company will review the estimate. There may be some negotiations on the price and procedures required to repair the vehicle. The insurance company will determine if the vehicle is even repairable. Once this process is completed, the vehicle begins the actual auto repair process.

Disassemble and Readjust the Initial Insurance Quote

When we disassemble the affected area of the vehicle, hidden damage is often found. At this time, inner structural repairs are identified. Usually, this will require scheduling an insurance re-inspection and adjustment to the initial estimate.

Order Parts

We check the availability of necessary parts for your vehicle and order them. We track the availability and delivery of all parts. Some parts may not meet our standards and may need to be reordered from another vendor. Often, the auto repair process cannot begin until the shop receives all of the structural parts.

Structural Repair

The newly repaired body is returned to the factory specification. Our computer-based measurement system is used to analyze the frame of your vehicle. This system assures an accurate collision repair and a safe vehicle for your family.

Auto Body Repair

Once the structure and systems are repaired and in place, we replace the exterior panels and any metal finishing that may be required. The vehicle comes back to life as sheet metal is installed and aligned. From here, the vehicle will go to our paint department.

Paint

The paint process is what makes the difference between an average job and a quality auto body repair. We prepare all panels for paint and computer-match the exact color before feathering the new paint to the existing panels to ensure a seamless paint job. Clear coat finishes the paint process.

Reassembly

Chrome, rubber and plastic moldings and detail pieces are put back on the vehicle as we reassemble the vehicle. All systems are checked and tested during this process. The vehicle is almost complete and ready for delivery when it is in this stage.

Detailing

The vehicle will be professionally cleaned and detailed so that when you sit behind the wheel, you will feel good about your “new” car.

Delivery

When the customer arrives to pick up the vehicle at our auto body shop in Atlanta or Marietta, GA, we sit down and explain the bill, review any warranty options and complete any final paperwork. At Bavarian Body Works, we like to follow up within two weeks of delivery to make sure the customer is happy with the auto repair outcome.
